2 - Ctrl + C & Ctrl + V

All of us may have experienced having an assignment or project that requires acquiring some important information from books or in the internet. But are you aware that you might be committing plagiarism without even knowing it? That’s why I am going to discuss all about plagiarism in this post so that you can avoid accidentally committing it.
First and foremost, plagiarism is the act of getting and using information without citing the source as reference. It can also be defined as stealing ideas and claiming it as if it was yours. If someone is caught plagiarizing, he/she will have to face the consequences like a having failing mark in school and a destroyed reputation.

Actions like getting images from the web, adding music to your videos, copying someone’s artwork, and performing another person’s music that is copyrighted are also counted as plagiarism. A good example of this is using another person’s photograph to join a contest and claiming it as your photo. Copying your previous work also falls under the same category, it is also known as “Self-Plagiarism”.

Now you might be wondering about how to avoid plagiarizing, well there are a few ways to prevent it. First is paraphrasing, it is a way of restating the information in a new form of text with other words. You must take note that changing a few words from the original text is NOT considered as paraphrasing. It must change the whole form of the text while giving the same information. When you have no choice but to copy the information itself, you must not forget to cite the source in details for it to be distinguished easily.
Gaining information and ideas from other people is a great thing, but stealing it from them is another story. Always keep in mind that plagiarizing is bad and should be avoided as it destroys not only your reputation, but also the people’s perception towards you.

1 - Ma Vie Personnelle

Before anything else, I would like to say that this is my first time in creating a blog-post. So please bear with me as I am still new to this field and also feel free to give a comment or suggestion after you’ve read my post.

For this post, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Napoleon Labuson and I was born on June, 16, 1998. My parents said to me that I was named after the French military and political leader, Napoléon Bonaparte who was famous during the French Revolution as he led several successful campaigns during the Revolutionary Wars. I am the youngest person in my family and I have two elder brothers. The first one is Nathaniel Labuson who is currently working abroad as a Mining Engineer and the second is Ernie Labuson who graduated as an Aircraft Mechanic and is currently working in an aircraft maintenance company. My father’s name is Luis Labuson and my mother’s name is Miriam Labuson.

I graduated from Colegio De Santa Ana and I am currently studying in Asia Pacific College taking up the course BS Electronics Engineering (or BS ECE for short). In my first three terms here in APC, I became close with my block mates in ECE-151. We were able to create a bond that helped us pass in our subjects and enjoy the college life at the same time.

Although it may not look like it, but I am actually interested in music. I spend my spare time playing the guitar and learning different songs arranged by many finger-style guitarists that I admire. For me, this is one way of getting rid of the daily stresses that I encounter once in a while as it helps me relax and refresh my mind. Since I’m really into music, I joined the organization APC Strings. Because of this organization, I was able to meet new friends get rid of my stage fright.
To sum up this post, I would like to say that I am glad I’ve met these people who changed my perception in life. And I am also ready for the challenges that I will soon face as the year passes. How about you? What are the things that you’re glad you have encountered in your life?
